It took me 4 hours to make this wine glass 🍷

Making my very first wine glass was a real adventure. I thought it would be a fun project and even put up a picture for people to pre-order. Someone liked it right away, so I got started the next day.

But wow, making a wine glass isn’t easy at all. The hardest part is the stem—it’s really thin and you have to attach it just right so it doesn’t fall apart when the clay dries. I tried making four of them. I used the pottery wheel for two and tried making the other two by handbuilding approach. The ones I built with my hands were super tough to make and, in the end, they just broke.

I talked before about how you need to be patient and sometimes start over when things don’t go your way with clay. Well, this time, I got really upset. I thought I’d never want to make another wine glass again. I was so tired and mad by the end of it.

But, I didn’t give up. I went to bed, woke up the next day, and decided to give it another shot. And guess what? I did it. Now I’m super excited to show off these wine glasses I’ve made.

It was a tough project, but I learned a lot. Making something beautiful isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it in the end.
